From time to time unsubstantiated
rumors of bin Laden's death make the rounds. Media and politicians
scramble to gain ground. The public is subjected to "could be
true" news stories and campaign-oriented short-sighted lectures
|
|
Bin Laden's death or his continued
living must be seen in perspective. Dead or alive, he has made all
of himself that he can. He is despised by many and revered by many.
He may at best destroy, kill, and inflict additional suffering and
pain upon many. |
|
Bin Laden was
part of the final push of the world into World War III. WWIII has
begun. It will continue with or without bin Laden's participation. |
|
Bin Laden is
no mastermind. Insane concepts such as flying passenger airplanes
into high-rise buildings are relatively easy to fund and supervise when plots
are premised upon the acceptance of suicide by underlings. |
|
Bin Laden's
money is not needed. Those who will perpetrate WWIII upon
civilization will receive funding from many sources with little
effort. |
|
For several
years former
President Clinton failed to be appropriately concerned and allowed
bin Laden to escape capture and death. Had Clinton's administration
killed bin Laden, some other fanatic -- or fanatics -- would have taken his place.
Buildings would have fallen, although perhaps not on
9/11/01, but on a different day and perhaps
even sooner under better leadership. |
|
World War III
is underway. It will proceed until enough fanatics are killed or
become satiated and bored with the routine suicide killings that
fail to stop -- or even make a dent -- in civilization's progress.
Perhaps someday enough fanatics will be exhausted and realize that
they are failing to push civilization back into the dark ages.
Perhaps someday enough fanatics will realize that their only
accomplishment is their own isolation in dark caves of discomfort.
Someday they may choose to join civilization and enjoy the benefits
of modernity. |
|
Regardless of
how WWIII proceeds, bin Laden is not needed. |
|
Bin Laden's
pursuit is required because he has committed grievous crimes against
humanity. He must be killed or captured and publicly tried by
civilization. |
|
The media and
politicians are destined to continue dancing on the non-existent
grave until it exists. Then they will move on to another
short-sighted, confused story line and lecture. |
|
US leadership
must stop being goaded into focusing upon and, in particular,
promising to capture bin Laden. US leadership needs to lead to
victory the fight that will someday be universally recognized as
World War III. |
